CASE STUDY
TPA partnered with Decusoft to rewrite their original DOS-based applications into a single integrated system that provides for administration of Unions, Benefit Funds, Medical Claims Processing, Dental Claims Processing, Disability Claims Processing, Supplemental Unemployment Benefits and Medicare Reimbursement. The new application is integrated with SeeBeyond, a leading EDI translator, and complies with Federal Government mandates specified in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regarding electronic transmission of health care transactions and security and confidentiality of electronic health care information.
The HIPAA compliant application allowed TPA to dynamically grow with changing business goals and provided the opportunity to move into additional markets.
The application is now in production at Plumbers Steam Fitters Local 21, Boston Teachers Union, Teamsters Local 456, and Laborers Local 1298. Sheet Metal Workers Local 28 and Roofers Local 8 are scheduled to convert by year end.
